Bloc Hotel Birmingham

Last weekend I was invited to stay at the Bloc Hotel in Birmingham*. I was so excited, as for a while I've wanted to stay in a Bloc Hotel, as it just looks so cool! I love the fact that it's so small, yet so modern and fits in everything you could ever need. The reception staff were extremely friendly, and the reception/lobby area is extremely modern and well kept. I was more than impressed with the £1 hot drinks machine - I had a hot chocolate and you could even decide how much chocolate or milk you wanted in it - how cool is that?!

As soon as you walk in to the hotel room, you immediately feel welcome and relaxed. Although it is small, it's certainly 'homely'. The bed was so bloody comfy, I had the best nights sleep in a long long time. I also loved how even though we were in Birmingham town centre, it was very quiet and I wasn't kept awake by the noise. The room also came with a plasma TV, which was great for watching films and TV at night. They also provide 24hr room service, though I didn't get the chance to try that out!

The room comes with a tonne of mirrors and plugs, and nice soft fluffy towels. Oh, and how could I forget, it also has free unlimited wifi?! I was so impressed with this, as most hotels you have to pay a ridiculous price for wifi access. We also had our own little wet room/bath room, which was so cool. Unfortunately I haven't got a photo of it. It had 2 types of shower heads, so if you didn't want to feel like you were showering in the rain (such a cool feeling), then you could change to a more traditional shower head. Only downside was that the loo got wet! They provide a gorgeous 2-in-1 shampoo which I was a bit wary of using because it normally dries my hair out, but this actually conditioned it, which I was shocked by!  After the shower I panicked as I realised I hadn't got a hair dryer, but all it took was for me to ring reception and within minutes one was delivered straight to my door!  How lovely eh? I'd definitely stay here again, and for rooms from £45, you really can't go wrong. Thank you ever so much Bloc, I will be seeing you again soon!

Have you ever stayed in a Bloc Hotel?
