Discussing Blogger Bitchiness ft Mental Health

This post is inspired by the lovely Ashleigh's blog post, all about how she's sick of bitches on the internet. This topic has been running around my head for a few months now, and after reading Ash's post I decided it was time to write it. When I first started blogging in 2012, there wasn't such thing as blogger bitchiness (well, if there was I wasn't aware). Everyone was focused on building everyone up, commenting on eachothers posts and generally having #GirlPower. But recently, I swear as soon as I open up the twitter app, I'm bombarded with bloggers having bitchy comments at eachother. Whether it's direct or indirect, and the best bit is, most of it is petty shit.

Now, what I don't get, is if you have a problem with someones content/view point etc, instead of publicly slating them, why not direct message them? This is the same for brand slating, I just don't get it. Well, actually I kinda do, people do it for the likes and RT's *sigh*. It feels like people are just inclded to bitch about eachother and slagging eachothers content off publicly, just so they can get likes and RTs out of it. Now, I dunno about you, but this aint the old blogging world I knew and loved. I maybe a bit dramatic by saying this, but it's really turning me away from the blogging community. It's seriously making my head hurt and feel tight/stressed. If anything I don't think its helping my Mental Health at all.

If you've followed me for a while, you know I suffer/suffered with anxiety and depression, blog posts all about that here and here (cheeky lil' plug). Thankfully it's been put at bay for quite a while now, but with all this constant drama and bitchiness etc, for some reason its making me feel quite down and anxious. I find myself logging out of twitter more frequently than usual now due to this. I never know where to put myself in these situations, I don't like to get involved but when I see people constantly berating bloggers that I love and are harmless, I can't help but get upset and angry. It is a form of bullying, and what I can't understand is why other bloggers would choose to do it to eachother? After all, we're all in the same business and we all know how tough it can be, nevermind with all this added shite to it.

Anyway, rant over, just needed to get it off my chest. Plz stop slagging eachother off gals, it aint nice.

  1. It's so sad when people think they can make their candle brighter by blowing out other people's!! If you are jealous that is a good thing just use that feeling in a positive way and WORK BITCH

  3. There is a fine line between discussing your opinion and being offensive/slagging someone off. If you're not sure where that line is, or find yourself creeping over it, it's probably best to keep your thoughts to yourself. I cannot agree with what you've said more - this is one of the reasons I seem to be spending less time on social media too!

  4. Totally agree! It's changed so much! Bitchiness is on 10000000! If you don't like someone's content like just unfollow, mute, don't look, block... do what you need to do. Anything is better than being bitchy x
